Maxwell Sees Nothing

Maxwell Sees Nothing

Well, I think we all saw this story coming long before it broke in a Friday-afternoon news dump to be immediately pushed aside by an avalanche of other Trump atrocities--including his declaration to send troops to Chicago. God help us all.

The thing we saw coming was summed up by this headline in the New York Times…

“Maxwell never witnessed Trump in `Inappropriate Setting.”

That’s Maxwell as in Ghislaine Maxwell. As in Jeffrey Epstein’s lover and sidekick and procurer of underage girls.

For her role in that piece of perversion, Maxwell was indicted, tried, convicted and sentenced to 20 years in a federal prison.

She may have been forgotten to all but the most fanatical of political freaks–like yours truly– except…

Candidate Trump promised to get to the bottom of Epsteingate, only to turn around as President Trump and declare there's no bottom to get to. That is...

His Justice Department flunkies, having reviewed all the files, discovered there was nothing to see. No client’s list. No evidence of Mossad or CIA connections. No evidence of blackmailing the rich and powerful, who may or may not have been captured by hidden cameras in Epstein’s mansion having sex with teenage girls.

And definitely no evidence of Trump doing anything improper--though Trump and Epstein were party-animal pals for years. Until a real estate dispute drove them apart.

When MAGA erupted over this obvious whitewash, Trump sent Todd Blanche–his former criminal defense lawyer, now Justice Department flunkie–to interview Maxwell and see what light she could shed on the matter.

Ha. Even The New York Times saw through this sham, writing…

“Ms. Maxwell has been seeking to overturn or reduce her 20-year sentence, giving her a powerful incentive to tell Mr. Trump’s team what it wanted to hear.”

A journalistic observation that falls under the category of–duh!

Maxwell read from Sergeant Schultz's I-see-nothing script...

Sure enough, under softball questioning by Blanche, Maxwell said…

“I actually never saw the president in any type of massage setting. I never witnessed the president in any inappropriate setting in any way.”

And…

“President Trump was always very cordial and very kind to me. I admire his extraordinary achievement in becoming the president now. And I like him and I’ve always liked him.”

And…

Okay, I gave you what you wanted, now hurry up and get me outta prison!

All right–I made up that last sentence. But you get the point.

I assume Trump will followup by commuting her sentence. To guarantee her silence.

And, taking a play from the Blago playbook, Maxwell will spend the rest of her life praising Trump. And condemning his enemies. And proclaiming her innocence. And insisting she was brought down by the same deep-state operatives who tried to bring down Trump.

Will that be good enough to satisfy Trump’s MAGA cultists, who claim pedophilia is the one crime they can't tolerate?

Obviously, Trump thinks so. And just in case, he’ll invade a few more blue-state cities. Especially those with Black mayors.

Anything to take MAGA's mind off of Epsteingate.
