You Were Warned, Voters

Let me interrupt the horrors of Trump’s war against Iran to remind you of some good news that may have been lost amid the bombing.

He fired Pam Bondi.

Well, that’s not really the good news.

The good news is why he fired her. Specifically…

He fired her cause it was impossible for her to do what he wanted her to do.

And it is reassuring to know that Trump can’t do what he wants to do in this case cause what he wants to do is impossible to do. At least, at this moment. 

I’ll explain, but first… 

I do not in any way feel an iota of sorry for Pam Bondi. She sold her soul to Donnie years ago. And has been enabling him ever since.

Michael Cohen warned Donnie's wanna-be enablers. For several years, Cohen was Trump's loyal pit-bull lawyer. But all that subservience got him was a few years in prison, after he plead guilty to violating federal campaign-finance laws to help swing the 2016 presidential election.

That's why Cohen issued his warning. Be careful--climb into bed with Trump and you'll wake up with fleas. Or words to that effect.

Obviously, Bondi wasn't paying attention. 

Anyway, near as I can tell, Trump had two reasons for firing Bondi--Epstein and enemies.  Let's deal with Epstein first.

Trump wanted Bondi to release the Justice Department files on Epstein in such a way as to to exculpate him, Trump, of any wrongdoing.

Which is impossible. As Trump's all over the Epstein files in ways that raise more questions than they answer.

The more files, she released, the worse it looked for Trump. Which is probably why he's trying to distract us with his war against Iran.

Now to the enemies.

Trump wanted Bondi to sic her Justice Department prosecutors on his enemies, prosecuting them for crimes whether they committed them or not. 

She failed to successfully prosecute them. Though not without trying, as in the cases of Letitia James, Adam Schiff, James Comey, Mark Kelly and Jerome Powell and probably a few others I'm forgetting.

She could not successfully prosecute them cause she didn't have the evidence that they did anything to prosecute them for. 

And as long as we still live in a semblance of a democracy where judges don't routinely rubber stamp the demands of tyrants, it's impossible to successfully prosecute somebody for the not-at-all high crime of doing nothing wrong.

So Trump threw a hissy fit and fired Bondi, apparently breaking the news to her as they rode in his presidential limo to watch the Supremes have a hearing on Trump's idiotic claim that the 14th Amendment doesn't say exactly what it says about birth citizenship rights.

Which is this...

"All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside."

Now we move to the era of Todd Blanche, Trump's former criminal defense lawyer, who Trump has appointed to replace Bondi.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Trump fires Blanche should the Supremes rule against him on the birth citizenship case. On the grounds that he's gotta blame someone. 

Well, let me play the blame game, too.

Hey, voters—I blame you for electing this demented lunatic to the highest office in the land. 

What were you thinking? You should have known better.

After all, Cohen warned us all.
