Big & Fast

Big & Fast

For the last few days, reporters have been desperately searching for a logical explanation as to why Trump would do something so illogical as start a war with Iran.

It's a challenging mission cause there's no logical explanation other than the one that's not logical at all. And that is...

This is the latest impulse of a demented narcissist, egged on by yes men with their own devious motives, who's starting to enjoy the immense power he has to kill just about anyone anywhere.

At first Trump was sorta joking when he bragged he could shoot someone on Fifth Avenue and still win MAGA's votes.

Now it's like he's realized--holy, shit, it's true!

So the high he got from attacking Venezuela and kidnapping its president and hauling him off to jail in Brooklyn, has proven to be intoxicating.

Didn't give me the Nobel Peace Prize for bringing (a non-existent) peace to the Middle East? Well, see how you like this...

Meanwhile, all his enablers--from Netanyahu to Rubio to Vance--are whispering in his ear...

Go get `em, big boy.

They have their motives. Netanyahu wants the freedom to continue to cleanse Palestinians from their homeland. Marco Rubio has his eye on the next war--Cuba. And Vance wants to be MAGA's next emperor.

In fact, if there's anything remotely humorous about this barbarism it's watching JD try to maneuver his way around the politics of the war.

Exhibit A...the White House meeting of February 18.

That's where Trump gathered his aides to confer on when they should start bombing. According to the New York Times account...

General Caine, the chairman of the joint chief of staff, "underscored that all the options under consideration would be more difficult than the successful capture of Maduro, an operation that the president viewed as a sign of potential U.S. success in Iran."

At which point, Vance allegedly stepped in.

"Mr. Vance who appeared to personally lean against military attacks argued that a limited strike was a mistake. If the United States was going to hit Iran, he told the group, it should `go big and go fast.'"

"Big and fast”? Sounds like a porn flick.

The Times then goes on to write...

"A spokesman for Mr. Vance declined to comment."

Yeah, right.

Okay, let's break this down...

Good one, boss...

What does "big and fast" even mean? The A bomb?

Cause, really, once the bombs fall, they're all big and fast. There's no such thing as a slow bomb. Or a small one--especially if it's falling on you.

Vance's so-called advice looks like an attempt to distance himself from a war that's unpopular with a significant portion of the MAGA base without alienating Trump, who will exile you if you dare to disagree. And good luck getting elected to anything after that.

So he says something intended to sound profound without actually saying anything at all.

It's Vance's way of telling Trump--whatever you want, boss. While leaving him room afterwards, when the war proves to be a disaster, to say...

I tried to warn them, but they wouldn't listen.

And by the way, that "declined to comment" bit is a real eye roller. My guess is the source of the anecdote was either Vance or the spokesman who "declined to comment."

Looks like Vance cut a deal with the NYT reporter in which he gave the reporter some behind-the-scenes BS in exchange for the reporter making Vance look good. Or at least as close to good as anyone can get in this debacle.

I'm telling you--this dude, Vance, is the slickest operator since Bill Clinton.

Sad to say there's no one anywhere near Trump who has the guts to stand up to Trump.

It's up to the American voters to vote him out of office, thus undoing the damage they did when they voted him in.
